Thoughts?

This will be the 21st meeting between the two schools since Madison Southern opened in 1988. Garrard County leads the all-time series 11-9 and has won eight of the last ten meetings.

 

Garrard County has gotten off to a solid start, running out to a 4-1 record. They have solid wins over Southwestern and Woodford County, although they probably need some more wins to prove their mettle in the 12th Region.

 

Madison Southern has started off 2-1. The Eagles were handled by a good Madison Central in the season opener before picking up relatively easy wins over Washington County and Model.

 

I think this game should be very competitive. Both teams will likely be similar in talent, although I'd give a slight edge to Garrard County. That edge might be negated, however, by Southern being the quasi-home team. This game will be played at Berea College, with the boys game at 6 and the girls game to follow.

Not surprised. That road from Lancaster to Berea just isn't very good. Hopefully it can get rescheduled, if not at Berea College, then at least at Southern High.

Southern's gym is being renovated this season. They don't have any "home games" this season. They will have 20 home games next season. They are playing a few games around Berea, but none at Southern's gym.
