Class of 2009 rankings

The final set of preseason rankings for me is the Class of 2009 or senior boys in the state of Kentucky and there's no question who is No. 1.

 

The questions start after No. 1 where it's a tight race.

 

Here are my 2009 boys rankings:

 

Jon Hood, Madisonville, 6-7: He's the best player in the '09 class and his recent play leaves no doubt about it.

 

Jacob Jenkins, Manual, 6-4: He's become more of an all-around player.

 

Vee Sanford, Lexington Catholic, 6-4: A lot of big-time colleges are starting to show interest in this athlete.

 

C.J. Penny, Anderson County, 6-5: An athletic guard who creates mismatch troubles.

 

Richie Phares, Scott County, 6-8: The veteran - and leader - on the state's top team. He's better than many think he is.

Good to see that Elliott Co has 3 players in the top 15.

 

Sleeper: Chuck Jones, Hopkins County Central, 6-9: He's a big man with improved skills and a tremendous upside. Someone will get a steal in college.

 

I have been hearing good things about this young man. Will get to see him in actioin when Hopkins Co. Central and GRC square off in the 5/3.

Lots of Lion Love & Hugs from Jody Demling. Has Ethan ranked #6, Ferg ranked #11, and Evan ranked #15 of his Top 15 in the state in the class of 2009. Only comment was on Ethan with, "He is so fun to watch". I have heard the same things about the team, "Alot of fun watching these guys."

If you haven't seen them play--please do so. I guarantee it is not boring and keeps your engines reaved up all night long!!!

Class of 2009 rankings

Hard to go wrong with that five...is the kid from Moore a senior this year? Can't remember his name, but he's starting off the season with an obscene ppg average... even against quality opposition.

I'm not sure if he is a senior, but saw him several times in Summer AAU Ball. He got 38 in the OT win over Male. He is small and very quick. Has a funny looking unorthodox shot, but you can't argue with the results as they go in and from all over the court including beyond the 3 pt. line. And he is not bashful about shooting the ball. He never met a shot he wasn't interested in.

Who?? Riley?? Holmes has several on the 2010 list which is where their firepower comes from.....
