Maroons never in the game. I thought PC might have a pretty solid team this year, not so sure after tonight. Josh Bray had a decent game but no one else looked to be on their game. Maybe Muse isn't in full basketball mode yet.

I'll give credit to McCreary too, they were all over PC on the defensive end, seems like they deflected more passes than they didn't. They also shot the lights out. I'd guess at least 10 three's and they came from several different players. Watts probably had 25 or so. Hard to see how Mercer took this team to double OT on Tuesday.

Maybe Mercer is going to be better than people think?!?

I cartainly agree with that. Mercer lost several games last year that could have went either way against some of the top teams in the region. If the ball bounces their way in a couple of those games people would would be expecting a lot more out of them coming into this year. With a player like Taylor, who on a given night can be a dominant as any in the region, the Titans can beat anyone in the region and I really would not think of it as much of an upset it any at all.

McCreary was lights out last night. They swarmed on defense & had there way on offense. In Pulaski's defense, this team has only had 2 weeks of practice together. Chris Muse, Alex Abner, Winston Hines, Austin Tarter, & Zack Eastham all were playing football up until then. It's going to take some time to get this team playing together.

As for MC, everone talks about how great Watts is(best in the Region by a lot, in my opinion), but the Raiders have another kid that really impressed me last night in Jacob Dixon. That kid can flat out go. He can hit the 3, drive to the bucket, & can jump out of the gym.

I still believe the Maroons will be very good this year, it's just going to take some time.

On a side note... I have to say it was a very lively & respectful crowd last night. The student section from MC, although they were sitting on the PC side, were fun to watch. It's refreshing to see the students allowed to actually have FUN during a basketball game. Good luck to MC this year.

Wow, I didn't expect this big of a difference

How many of McCreary's players were key contributors to last years team, seems like they had a lot of seniors. I remember thinking the Somerset/McCreary game last year may have been largest collection of seniors, both teams combined I had ever seen.

I didn't think McCreary could be that good after losing that many seniors.

McCreary executed better than any team I have ever seen last night. The ran just as efficiently with Watts out of the game compared to when he is in the game. And McCreary is extremely long and athletic. If I counted right, every player except two were doing some kind of dunk (reverse, alley-oop). McCreary's offense was just plain mind-boggling.

Their length helped them in the full court press with three consecutive steals just because of their length and Pulaski's attempt to pass over it.

On the other hand, Mercer is good. Very good. They just beat Wayne, too.

Watts led with 24 points, Roark came off the bench and added 18, and Dixon added 16.

What is so scary about this is that there are no seniors on this team. This was the best game I have ever seen out of a McCreary squad and they'll be even better next year.
