BluegrassPreps.com/Kentucky News Network Player of the week!

Featured Replies

From KNN Al:

Hi gang--it's that time of year for the 2008 KNN High School Scoreboard Show.

We'll again be using your nominees for Player Of The Week, and the official rankings will come from BluegrassPreps.com.

We'll be heard on at least 30 stations around Kentucky, with more on the way. I'll post a full station list as soon as it's finalized.

As always, I'd like for all of you to post the stations in your area that air high school games. We'll use reports from those stations in the show as much as possible. If you know the identity of the announcers that's a bonus.

When nominating a Player Of the Week candidate, please include the players name, school, size, (ht/wt), class, (soph/jr/sr) and position. Then give an accurate listing of the stats he posted that week. Carries, yards, etc.

We'll use all the nominees and give them a mention, and then one will be chosen for POW.

Thanks for all the help in advance, and enjoy the season!

I nominate 6'1" / 255 lb SR, DE, Kody Rosenhagen of Ft. Thomas Highlands. His stalwart defensive efforts were key to the Bluebird victory over Johnson Central. HHS does not keep individual stats...it's a "team" thing in Ft. Thomas. But the "game changing moment" came when Rosie stripped, scooped and scored from 75 yards out to virtually lock the game up for the 'Birds in a hard fought 35-21 victory.

Fort Campbell quarterback Antonio Andrews was 10-of-13 passing for 102 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 147 yards and another score in their 48-35 win over Owensboro Catholic.

Fort Campbell's Troy Turner added 11 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Owensboro Catholic senior receiver Bryan McGraw caught 16 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns against Fort Campbell.

Boyle County running back Rees MacShara rushed for 127 yards and two touchdowns and caught a 38-yard touchdown pass in their win over Lexington Catholic.

Christian County's Bubba Tandy caught four passes for 75 yards and picked off one pass.

Christian County's Vashun Banks ran 25 times for 121 yards in their win over Owensboro.

Crittenden County quarterback J.D. Gray ran 18 times for 154 yards and scored on runs of 60 and 21 yards. He also returned a punt 85 yards for a touchdown in their 26-13 win over Mayfield.

Calloway County junior running back Tyrrell Willis (6-3, 245) ran 30 times for 176 yards and three touchdowns (11, 21, 9). He also had three catches for 56 yards and completed one pass for 52 yards.

Male's Justin Green rushed 19 times for 254 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught a 76 yards TD pass as Male beat Scott County 56-35

SR., RB/PR Mark Kelly of NCC scored 6 of the 8 TD's in NewCath's 54-19 victory over DeSales. Kelly scored on runs of 8; 10; 8; 5; and 52 yards. He also took a punt back 49 yards for a score. He had 14 carries for 158 yds on the night. Plus an 82 yard KO return! No word on if he sold popcorn at halftime!
