November 19, 200817 yr Mal, why are you always so negative? I wish that we could have kept Affeldt, but no way the Reds are going to pay him $4 million per year. I have always like Affeldt and thought he did a great job this year. Sorry but, if you don't like the truth, then that would sound negative. We are talking about a team that has not won in almost 10 years and haven't made the playoffs in more than that. I do not accept mediocrity and I will speak to that until they do something to make me think otherwise. So far they haven't. I do agree 4 mil would have been steep for Affeldt, but my point is that as of now, they have done nothing to improve the club. Yes it is early in the offseason, but that's what we always say, so like I said until they improve, I will continue to bang them.
