Boone County Schools

Would it? I thought Ballard had about 4000, or at least at one time.

I don't believe any KY high school has ever reached that mark (4000). I seriously doubt any KY high school has ever reached even 3,000 enrollment.

At one time in the past (before John Hardin), Central Hardin and North Hardin were the two largest public schools in the state, and both were in the low 2,000s...

Oldham County had about 2200 when I graduated from there in 1980, but the school system got on the "more schools with less enrollment is better" kick and has since built South Oldham and North Oldham. East Oldham is on the drawing board and is expected around 2015 or so. Oldham has about 1500 now, South is around 1200, and North Oldham is about 700...

Can someone tell me about Ludlow? I'll be seeing their team in early December when they come to play South Oldham...

I agree and don't think any KY HS's ever got past 2500, although Trinity and X translate to around 2800 using the KHSAA's 2x student ranking system for single sex schools.

For the record all three Boone schools are in the top 25 in enrollment, with Conner @ 1635, Ryle @ 1640 and Boone @ 1552 if I read the KHSAA numbers correctly. Campbell is the only other NKY school in the top 25 @ 1508, and Simon Kenton close @ 1464. Aside from T & X factoring up, the only ones over 2000 students are Dunbar (2190), Henderson Cty, (2167), Henry Clay (2106) and Lafayette (2008). Eastern, Scott Cty, PRP, Manual, Daviess Cty, and Male round out the top 10.

Small school who has had some decent teams in the past; however, they were stuck in a pretty tough district when they had some of their best teams. That district was Holy Cross, Holmes & Covington Catholic. They've since moved to a new district in the past few years.

Don't know much about this year's version of Ludlow, but I'd guess South Oldham would be the favorite...
