November 14, 200817 yr And they successfully revitalized Obama's campaign.Before the bailout struck, McCain was leading after adding Palin to the ticket. Palin did not cost McCain the election, McCain cost himself the election by mirroring Obama on many important issues, including the bailout, immigration, ANWR drilling, and global warming. He also did a horrible job explaining his health care plan and was far too squeamish about criticizing Obama. Obama is much more comfortable attacking Republicans than Democrats. The way for Republicans to win elections is not to parrot Democratic positions. The media is always going to portray the Democratic candidate as a moderate and the Republican as a right winger, so adopting left wing positions will never be a winning strategy for them.
