I'm going with NCC on this one. Campbell Co scared me more than Beechwood. But, I may be eating crow.......

If NCC can't beat a not so good CCH team... I have to go with Beechwood.

 

It would be dangerous to gauge NewCath off of that game. That was the one game that CCH showed how good they could be, as Isler made all the throws and exploited NewCath's secondary and linebackers. Adjustments have been made. I've yet to read anything saying that Beechwood has beaten anyone w/ the pass. NewCath is a difficult team to run on. They will need to be able to balance their offense. On defense, NewCath is the best offense that the Tigers have faced since their scrimmage against Highlands. They have been leaning more towards the run b/c they've had such success w/ it, but we all know that Kues is a very dangerous passer. I believe that both teams have the same amount of game breakers, so this will be an interesting game won by whoever controls the line of scrimmage.

I think with Teipel's recent injury, NCC will be able to come away with the victory. I just wonder what the Beechwood coaching staff does with Teipel this week, that should be interesting.

As a NewCath fan you would love to get to face a back of that caliber heading into the playoffs. He's one of the top 20 backs in the state, and experience tackling that kind of talent is invaluable. If I'm a Beechwood coach, I sit him this week and next, and get ready for the stretch run. Turf toe won't heal by putting it right back out there, especially on Sports Turf.

Not having Kiernan is huge. Escalante will really be missed, but Kiernan was that heart of the DLine. He dominated the middle. How bad is his injury? Will he be back for the playoffs. NewCath has had a lot of injuries this year that have cost a lot of starters games. This wasn't an overly deep team to begin w/ compared w/ the last few seasons. Mono and injuries, and they're still one of the top teams in NKY. That's overcoming adversity as a unit.

Most are back, except for these two. Escalante had been moved off D about 3 games ago, but he was the go to guy as a receiver. D-Line has held its own since Jake has been out, they held Johnson to 85 yards last week. I think Jake will be back next week or following week.

"Maneater" Maniello and his sidekicks Daniels, Teipel, and Slusher may prove to be too much for a game NCC to stop. NCC can't have the mistakes that they had against the Camels if they expect to pull this one out.
