Fucci and Stenzel are too low! Both are top 5 in this class. Northern Kentucky seems to be shut out in these rankings. You have got some good players who are going to be big contributors on good teams not getting any recognition. Arnold from Holmes, Trammel from Dixie, Smith from Scott and Thelen from CovCath are all very good players and I would think at least one of them would have made this list.

I also could have added Travis Montgomery and Trevan Brown from Boone Co to this list.

6'6 G Kevon Arnold of Holmes is another kid IMO who is a top 20 player for this class. He played at the 17U level this past summer as a 15 yr old and still averaged double digit points.

I agree on Robby Stenzel. With Vinny Zollo now playing in Ky he should be added to this list. Also remember the name of Travis Pervis, he too is in this class and with AAU this summer and hopefully a great season this year will get his name out there.

Zollo would fall in the 5-10 range and IMO is the best big man in the state for this class.

Timmy Knipp is not 6'6". He was 6'7" last year and has not shrunk. In fact has grown close to 6'8" from what I am hearing. Nice to see Timmy pretty high on the list. Now Timmy needs to play the level that many anticipate he will play to this coming season and consistent with the confidence given by this ranking.

Not blasting the kid.....BUT I have 2 8th graders that are twice as good as McClanahan, one is 6'3" the other 6'5" and they are not even the best in Pike County.

Strothers, who played for me at BMS, has not went to Belfry in 3 years......is in Ohio somewhere.

There are some really good players from Nky. Thelen from CovCath. He is a 6'5'' jumpshooter. And Trammel from Dixie will get a lot of playing time on varsity this year.

Is Otis Webb even eligible? He didn't play much last year due to academics. And when he did, I wasn't impressed. Watching him a couple of years ago, I thought he was the best player in his age in Lexington. But he seems to have kind of peaked to me. Just hasn't developed.

Also Bryan Station related, is Seth Becham still there? Or was he one of the Bryan Station transfers to Catholic this year?

Left off the list...... Brandon WILDER from Henry Clay. He started for Henry Clay's freshman team as an 8th grader. He and Fucci won state 15U AAU this year.

Kimbro definitely the cream of the 2011 crop. Stenzel is getting better every game and should move up ranking wise. And I love Barksdale at Tates Creek. Should be a beast this year.

Talent level in KY is getting back to where it used to be.

I don't know where everyone got the idea that Thelan was a jumpshooter. He is a power forward with the ability to step out and make a midrange shot from time to time. I would not consider him to be a jumpshooter by any stretch of the imagination.

With that being said, I really like Jakes game. Big body tough to handle, nice touch around the basket. Very talented scorer and good rebounder.

Looks like a pretty impressive group, others that could be added Trevan Brown Boone County,Jake Giesler Newport Central Cath.and Luke King Deming,Neal Pawsat Mason Co. Alot of talent!!! How many on the list saw much Varsity time last year?

I heard both Beckhams are at Lexington Catholic this year.
