Final

No suprise here, I have said all along that Fairview will be a team to challenge for a district title. New coach along with new additions, this team will be very good.

I dont know about them challenging Raceland or LCA for the district title OldRambler but I do think Fairview will be a solid team this year that the Rams wont be able to take lightly. Congrats to them on the win, impressive score.

I'm afraid it is going to be a loooonnnngggg year this year for us East Carter fans. These boy's will also need and try to keep their cool. We had a few get nasty tonight and get some personal fouls called on them. Congrats. to the Eagles .... my wifes alma matar.

 

Going to need some prozac before this seasons done.

Great start for Coach N. McPeek. He has his boys playing hard.

 

This bigboy has seen his fair share of football games but saw a first tonight. East Carter did one of the running rugby type punts from inside their own 10. The punter ran 3 or 4 steps to his right and punted the ball about 3 feet off the ground directly to a Fairview defender just yards away on the 25. Most all of East Carter's cover people had released and ran right by the kid from Fairview as he caught the ball. Not knowing where the ball was the East coverage kept running down the field and all the Fairview player had to do was get past the punter and he scored! Strange play for sure!

 

I was told that East lost one starting linebacker to a warmup injury and lost their middle linebacker on the third play of the game. Don't know if it is true but if so that may help to explain how Fairview ran all over the boy's from Grayson. Fairview appeared to be quite a bit faster than the Raiders.

Congrats to Coach McPeak and the coaching staff and to the players! A lot of people have been suprised by your good start!!!! Nice job.
