Franklin Co 2008/2009

Featured Replies

What does Franklin Co need to do to improve in 2008/2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Franklin County finished a tough schedule last year 20-10 despite numerous injuries and illnesses that prevented them from ever really hitting top form.

IF they can stay healthy, or even close, this year, they will be at least top 15.

I agree that FC is very good this year. They should make some noise in the always tough 11th Region.

Still a mid pack 11th Region team until they step up and beat some of the perennial upper echelon teams in the 11th such as Scott County, Dunbar, Lexington Catholic, and Bryan Station.

Ok, How about

They are talented enough to make some noise in the 11th region this year.

Franklin Co should have a very good team this year. I watched them this year in summer ball and they have a lot of talent.

As of right now it appears only Scott County is on the regular season schedule. I agree Franklin County needs to beat those teams...not likely this year due to the schedule. On paper, I see them fighting for the second spot after "The Dream Team":p. I don't believe they will be conceding to any one of them. They lost NO players, and were young last year. This year they appear to be bigger and more athletic...a year has helped, and they can still shoot the ball.

Franklin County may be the most underrated team in the state. Meyer and Donovan make up one of the best duos in the state. Mix that with the athleticism of Hicks, Conner, and Hall and you have a team that can contend for the 11th region championship. Maybe not as talented as Scott County, but on a given night, defiantly have the potential to beat them.

Franklin Co. has a very nice team. I enjoyed watching them this summer. They really get after it. Meyer is a very underrated guard. Coach Chalk does a good job with them. I would say they are probably the 4th best team in the region behind Dunbar, LexCath, and Scott Co. I give them the edge over Bryan Station and Tates Creek who will have nice teams as well.

They added a game against Mason County in the Kentucky Bank Shootout to an already loaded schedule. They will also play in a Holiday Tournament in Binghampton, NY.

The tournament in Binghamton usally draws some very good teams from the northeast. The other interesting thing about that tournament is they play with a shot clock.

Here is the field for the Tourney:

Thanks for the tourney info. The coaches have put together a great schedule this year...including Mason County, GRC, Montgomery Co, Holmes, Shelby County, Scott County, Anderson County, other 11th region - Madison Central, Tates Creek, Lafayette, District foes - Woodford Co., Western Hills, Frankfort and also Dixie Heights, Boyle County and Central Hardin.
