August 27, 200818 yr I just want to take a moment to say just how great this season has been. I've endured lousy Cub team after lousy Cub team for 22 years, with the occasional decent team which some how found a way to lose. I can't count how many times I've sworn off the Cubs, thrown my Cubs hat in the trash, only to retrieve it an hour later. This has truly been the most fun I've ever had being a Cub fan, and with young talent like Soto, Theriot, Fontenot, Big Z and Rich Harden, Marmol to the Shark, with some great veterans with a few years left in the tank, and the possible future owner of Cuban, I can't help but think we are entering a new era where we aren't door mats or "lovable losers". I truly believe this is the year the Cubs will do it all and I long for the day that I don't have to hear some obnoxious Card fan say "1908." So here's to the rest of the season! Go get em Cubs!:thumb: :thumb::thumb::thumb:My feelings exactly!:dancingpa
August 27, 200818 yr Author I will never forget coming home from work after Game 6 against Florida and vowing to never watch the Cubs again. I worked midnight shift at the time and had to spend all night at work after watching that debacle. We see how long that lasted, I'm trying to enjoy this season as much as I can, but it's hard not to wonder just how this is going to play out.

We see how long that lasted, I'm trying to enjoy this season as much as I can, but it's hard not to wonder just how this is going to play out. Right now I'm just trying to soak it all in, watching as many games and listening to as many games as possible, I've already seen them play 5 times this year including 2 trips to Wrigley and I intend to catch one of the games in St Lou next month. This may very well be the best all around Cubs team ever and I may never witness another Cubs season quite like this one. I feel like im watching history and believe with everything that this is indeed the year. It feels like its a team of destiny. 100 years, the roman numeral for 100 is the letter C which is the Cubs logo, hopefully they win 100 games even for the regular season:ylsuper:
August 27, 200818 yr Author You figured the Cubs offense would come back to earth today after the last couple games. Marquis pitches an outstanding 7 innings, Marmol and Wood do their job and the Cubs get 2 runs in the 7th to win the game 2-0. The rotation is lined up perfectly for this huge series against Philadelphia. Phillies are playing great, Cubs are playing great, going to be a really fun 4 game series in Wrigley GO CUBS GO! Just 29 games left 6 against Milwaukee 4 against Philly 3 against Reds 4 against Mets 6 against Astros 6 against St Louis
August 28, 200818 yr Author Cards come back from a 3 run deficit with 1 in the 6th and 4 more runs in the 8th to win it 5-3. Brewers now 6 back. Cubs magic # is now 24. :thumb:
August 28, 200818 yr Last night I was really pulling for the Cards, even though it made me throw up a little in my mouth.
August 28, 200818 yr Man, starting the final leg of the season tonight. An absolute brutal schedule, 26 of the next 29 games are against teams who are .500 or better. I'd like to see them go at least 17-12 over the rest of the way.

All of these games will have a playoff type atmosphere in the last month and you would think that can only help.
August 29, 200818 yr Author Pitchers dual tonight so far between Hammels and Dempster I figured going in that we would likely see a 2-2 split in the series between these teams.
August 29, 200818 yr Author I'm hoping for 3-1 I agree :thumb: Cubs get a run to tie it and Dempster goes back out there and gives up 3, very frustrating. Just might not be their day, but we have seen more than a few comebacks from this team this year.
August 29, 200818 yr Author :dancingpa:dancingpa:dancingpa RAMIREZ WITH A GRAND SLAM IN THE BOTTOM OF THE 8TH!!!! CUBS LEAD 6-4!!!! :scared::scared: Okay, I'm better now.
