Coop says he's a Red from the 70s.

Well, just to clarify a tad - I wouldn't say he was a Red "from the 70's". More like he played "for the Reds" for a very brief period "in the 70's."

Woody Woodward?

No. But good guess using the initials hint. Definitely on the right track.

I recall a player from the Cardinals, nicknamed Phantom but not the Reds.

I have no idea.

Very, very warm. Actually all you need is the name and you are rich!

If a former Cardinal, than Javier. I can't recall his first name, but there was a player who played with them, nicknamed Phantom but don't recall, him ever playing with the Reds.

Wow. You win. Julian Javier.

Just a tad bit obscure, Coop.

Well, you kind of limped in with the answer, but I'll give it to you. Julian Javier ended his career playing a brief few games with the Reds in 1973. He had a nice career with the Cards. Nicely done.

That's why it was a "bonus" question.

And also why I was able to offer up such a huge payout to the winner.

I couldn't recall his first name and was going to say, Juan Javier.

BOOM BOOM is what I used to refer to Tom Hume as because everytime he pitched, the balls were boom boom out of the park
