What about Arkansas Brewer? Is he going to play? (is he still at Newport?)

 

Brewer was at practice today and said he was going to do his part for the team what ever that may be. So it seems he is at Newport and is going to play.

Einstein70 -- I always admire your opinion but I personally would have not wanted him back at Newport. Reason being, he did a lot of damage to the team last year with the attitude problems. He wasn't the only one - there was a few more players on that team that either quit or stuck around to be a problem. Newport had no Senior leadership last season and I hope the seniors step up this year. I always liked him but I still blame alot of people for creating his attitude as it is -- he has talent -- but the maturity level needs to improve -- and if it has then great and I wish him the best -- but if it has not -- then take a walk.

Two question about Cooper HS! Drove over to Cooper yesterday to see what it looks like and it looks like to me:

 

1) With the opening of the Boone County Schools slated for Aug 18 will they be ready? It sure looks they (meaning the contractors) have "a lot" of work to be done before this school is ready to open!

 

2) Will Cooper play a home game this year at Cooper? There (IMO) is no way they will play a home game at Cooper this season, and if they don't, whose field will they use for their home field? My gut tells me Ryle and their turf field, but will the Boone County Board of Education have to pay to use it, since the turf field was a donation and not bought and paid for by the BOE?

 

Cooper will be a good looking HS in a year or two, but today? They have (IMO) a long, long way to go!

Agree, in more ways then one IMO.
