Bell County 4 Corbin 2

Kyle Nelson strikes out 11 batters. Big win by Bell County.

Clay vs. Bell tomorrow.

Spencer Greer delivered a three-run homer in the win.

Corbin had a great season and have no reason to hang their heads.

Congratulations to Coach Ledington and the Bobcats........but they have to refocus and finish the job by beating Clay Co. tonight.

A really good year for the Hounds in what was considered to be a rebuilding year due to losing almost the entire pitching staff. Kids such as Joseph Hamlin(congrats on getting accepted into the Naval Academy)and others such as Matlock, Smith, Watkins, Salmons ,Sewell...... really stepped up and produced for Corbin this year.

Congratulations to Corbin on a great season!

That being said, this is a far cry from an 11-2 loss for the Bobcats. I would love for someone to predict another lopsided loss for the Bobcats in the finals!

Good win for the Bobcats. Those kids have won at every sport they have played, the Jrs. that is. Throw in the leadership and toughness of Nelson and they are a hard out in anything. I think he is the only Sr. on the team?

Anybody know what time the game is tonight?

I believe that game is set for 7:00 p.m.

Kyle Nelson was an excellent pitcher. We started hitting late. The three run homer by Greer was our nemesis. Josh threw him a pitch that was a little too hard to resist. At the end we could have had players on 1st and 3rd but for some reason the player on third decided to run home and got slammed by Greer at the plate which caused the out. (I am not sure if this was player choice or coaches for him to go home) but that is just baseball. We gave a great effort and had a great season. We have no reason to hang our heads. Hope the Bobcats go all the way!

OK,

Even with the lack of pitching, I'll go with Clay County, 10-3.

There ya go, another homer pick ... :thumb:

Are there any sophomore pitchers for the Hounds next season?

I was told by a high school umpire in attendance at this game that there should have been an ejection on the play you described. That sure would have made the Bell Co. - Clay Co. game a lot more interesting as he would have been ineligible for that game.

Why should there been an ejection? Don't know anything about the game that you are talking about but read this post and just wondered why there should have been an ejection?

It appeared intentional but I am not sure if Greer was just being forceful to avoid the run rather than actually trying to hurt another player. I tend to believe the latter but it was controversial.

Who are the sophomore pitchers for hounds next season?
