May 29, 200818 yr Inconsistent? I guess, if you count 1 bad year. 2008: 21 2007: 13 (Counting Legion) (Gillispie's class) 2006: 16 2005: NR 2004: 1 2003: 18 Even if you give UK a 40 in 2005. You have a 16, a 1, a 40 and an 18. Average: 18.75 If you wanna compare, Tubby had a better class 3 of his last 4 years than Gillispie's class this year that he is being praised for. And that includes a #1. Take out Liggins, which it appears will be the case, and the "master recruiter" Gillispie will not have outrecruited Tubby yet. Oh, and BTW, Tubby beat him this year too, at Minnesota. You are paying way too much attention to these rankings. The 2003 and 2005 classes were really poor! It doesn't matter what the 2003 class was ranked. Those guys weren't very good. I am not trying to put down Coach Smith. I think he is a very good coach and a great person, but if you know more about it than what meets the eye, Coach Smith' staff really were behind the times when it came to recruiting.
May 29, 200818 yr This is a stupid ranking, IMO. Dropping UofL out of the top five for not signing Bolding. This kid was a marginal recruit that RP did not feel the need to use a scholarship on. Oh well, recruiting rankings are fun to talk about, but unprovable until they actually hit the court. I agree on the IU rankings too, no way that is a top 20 class.
