Scott 8 Cov. Holy Cross 5

Featured Replies

Scott gets the win on HC's senior night. Adams gets the W for the Eagles giving up 5 runs (2 or 3 unearned). Adams also adds in his 9th homerun of the year and ties the school record for HRs in a season. I'll post the stats here in a minute

Scott jumped out from the start putting up 3 in the first and then 3 in the second to go up 6-0 after 2 innings. HC responded in the bottom of the 3rd scoring 2 (1 earned). Scott then put up 2 in the fifth and HC put up a 3 spot in the sixth (1 or 2 earned). Adams was pulled after the 6th due to his pitch count and Tyler Osbourne came into relief, doing away the 2-3-4 batters of HC. If Scott can just count down on the errors and some of their mental mistakes they will be very dangerous come postseason but they are getting there.

I can't seem to find the stat book but I know Zach Sowder (soph) had a very good day going 4-4 with 3 RBIs. Ryan Bianchi and Tim Morrison also had some good at bats I believe adding in with 1 RBI each. Adams also contributed hitting his 9th homerun of the year (2-run homer) and added in with 2 walks. The bats were on today for the Eagles.

The Eagles have the day off tomorrow so rest up boys:thumb:

Zach Adams really seems to be in the zone.. You really have to consider him for POY and just because he wasn't dominant last year like Maile and Farris and maybe not as known, Adams is my favorite for POY with the pace he is on.

He was injured last year. He couldn't pitch or play the field. All he could do was DH and really didn't get that going until mid-season. It will be interesting to see if he can win it due to the fact that although Scott is a NKY school, they play in the 10th region.

We're fortunate to be able to see a lot of good players here in NKY. None of these schools are near as large as the schools in Louisville and Lexington and therfore, don't have the numbers that those schools boast.

His average is also not where those other two are

I believe he is batting around the area of .420 or .430 so I'm not sure how that compares to Maile and Farris

He was listed at .389 last I saw... Reardon is .548 Maile is .531 Farris is .424.... That said he should definitely be considered for player of the year, but it's not like the other guys are only getting considered because of last year. They are putting up some pretty nice numbers as well.

Wow. Looking forward to seeing him tonight when HC plays BC at Freedom (8:00 p.m.).

That is correct..... but that was going into this week and the average now has climbed above that to I think about .420

Which would make sense he went like 4-4 Monday.... He is having a great year no doubt about it. I was simply just tryin to say that the guys like Maile and Farris who received attention last year are still putting up numbers this year. They aren't just candidates because of last year's hype.
