sam9223 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Who is going to win the region. Boyd County or Lawrence County. Or will Greenup be the team to beat?
Coupon21 Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 I doubt Lawrence wins the 16th this season!:lol::lol:
racer4life Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 East Carter has to be the top sleeper in the 16th. They could be a hard out.

BaseballDad Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 In my opinion, there are only three potential champions in the 16th. Greenup is the favorite, followed closely by Boyd and East Carter. I really can't see any big upsets to keep one of these three teams from winning it. My personal pick is that Greenup will repeat as the 16th champs. Their bats can make up for a lot of mistakes. Also, after the pitching performances this past weekend in Louisville, their pithching is really coming around. GC played three games in Lousiville using a total of three pitchers. Heineman, Greenslate, and Martin ALL threw complete games, giving the Muskies 3 convincing victories. Well done guys. :ylsuper:

Big Slick Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Lewis could upset any of those teams, but would really really tough for them to win 3 in a row against quality teams with the pitching restrictions.
BaseballDad Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Who did they beat? Heineman was dominant, beating Taylor Co. 3-0 Friday night. He had 14 K's. Greenslate beat Desales Saturday. Martin beat Southern, the home team, also on Saturday. Sorry. I'm not sure about the last two games' scores or any stats. I wasn't able to pick them up on the radio. The scores were something like 11-3 and 8-2, I believe.

Let's just hope they don't draw each other in the first game of the district tourney. That would really be a travesty. That's why not seeding is complete crap. :mad:
Big Slick Posted April 28, 2008 Posted April 28, 2008 Don't forget to include Raceland in that district conversation.

You've got a good point Lewis County could make a good run but they need a favorable draw because as Big Slick said pitching could be a problem if they had to face Greenup, Boyd, and East. If some of the young guys get some confidence they could be a tough out as well.
