Seriously, Elliott shot under 40% for the game, and still had a 7-point lead with three or four minutes to play. Had they been able to take the air out of the ball, they win that game; but slowing things down is not the Lions' strong suit. Elliott played well for 29 minutes. They played with heart and with fire. For 29 minutes, Mason did not.

 

But if anyone thinks that Mason County truly "showed up" against Elliott County, they didn't watch last night's game against Tilghman. The Royals showed up. Maybe P-T didn't, but Mason did.

 

So, if Mason plays like they did against Elliott County, Shelby County wins by a couple of buckets. If the Royals play like they did against Tilghman, they win big.

 

Elliott and Tilghman are two different teams maybe that has more to do with the final scores than Mason showed up in one and not the other. Elliott would have beat tilghman by 40+ last night because they wouldn't have taken their starters out in the 3rd quarter. Mason played a great game last night but PT played terrible. I'm a fan of both Mason and Elliott but you Mason fans never give Elliott their props. Elliott didn't show up in the first game at the fieldhouse and thats why it was a blowout. Mason is a better team than Elliott but not 29 points, and all of Mason County thought they would blow them out again.

If Mason County plays like they played against Elliott County, they would have trouble against anyone in the tournament.

 

If they play like they did against Tilghman, that may be another story.

 

I think not enough credit being given to Elliott for Mason's play on Thursday night. When EC lost to them in Feb it was all due to Mason's defense & their size not how bad EC may have played that night.

PT has great athletes that were not really great bssketball players, while EC has good athletes but much better baskettball players therefore the difference! Mason's kids have played against & with the Faulkners,Ferg & Maynard since they were 9&10 years old They know what they are capable of so I cannot believe they did not come to play! Regardless of what happened in Feb trust me Mason's kids knew what to expect.

Why are we still talking about Elliott County? It's done, they got beat, it's over...let it go! Mason County did not show up that night, and if you believe they did, then that must have been the only time that you have seen them play.
