Jackson was down 10 with 1:30 and hit two threes to get to 4 with 1:00 left. Clay was called for a charge with :54 seconds to go, but Jackson turned it over which sealed the game, fun game to watch and a great crowd North Laurel put on a great tournament.

Well atleast Jackson is in the regional tourney. I mean with the line-up of a good JUCO team this team should be a major contender for the 13th/

Jackson Co. is a very talented team to be runner-up!

Jackson kept trying to run, and it cost them. Thet had several breaks and runouts that ended in turnovers and bad shots due to decisions by their guards. When Clay slowed it down, Jackson had to go to man defense, and Clay just went right by them. As Chachi said, Jackson mgot it close at the end with a couple of late threes.

 

I agree, NL did an excellent job hosting the tournament.

Clay played an excellent game. Their defense was soild ALMOST all night, with the exception of not getting upon Hamblin for those 3s. No matter where he is on the floor, got to get up on him.

Other than that, the interior defense on Brumback by Wilson and Roberts was superb. Did a great job of sloughing off and helping out down low.

And the shooting display Roberts put on tonight....WOW!!!!! 7 for 7 from downtown!!! And he is just a freshmen, playing in a huge game like this and giving that kind of performance. Also pulled down some big rebounds, too.

But Jackson couldn't stop the drives of Hobbs, Smith, Reid, etc. Just a great job by the Tigers, and a great job by Spurlock putting the game-plan together, and his team executing it to near perfection. For 1 minute there in the 4th period, they kinda forgot who was ahead, it seemed. When they finally got a stop, they iced it at the line.

Now, it's on to regions. Watch out for this team!!!

The Tigers looked really good until that last minute and half, and it just seemed to all tore apart. But all I can say about Roberts is WOW! I think he has shot 100% from the 3 point line the last two games, tonight going 7 for 7.. And this kid is just a freshmen!!

 

Great win by the Tigers and Coach Spurlock! Should be a great 13th region tournment!

Does anybody know who the three refs were who called this game?

I agree. I thought all of the officiating at the 49th district tournament was good.

It should have been good. You had 3 top officals calling in the districts. During the season is when you get the one decent ref and the two not so good ones....that is when things get ugly. In the post season you will have three quality guys most every night.
