In this case it was the persons third felony. He broke into a place and left with 4 cookies. Was arrested, and sentenced to 25 to life. While I agree that since he was a repeat offender, he should be punished harshly...but 25 to life? Not necessary.

 

Breaking and entering and destruction of property would have been the qualifying felony not the misdemeanor cookie theft.

HB20, just saw on another thread that you were considering a career in Law Enforcement.:thumb: First I wish you well in that endeavor if that is the path you choose. I also think your opinions may change somewhat on how long someone is locked up and what they are locked up for if you do choose Law Enforcement as a career path. Then again short sentences for repeat offenders would give you job security.:thumb:

Law enforcement is all I've ever really considered doing. I can not figure out anything else that I would enjoy doing...
