Going strictly by population percentage, Louisville is under represented in the Sweet 16. If you included Oldham with Jefferson, the two counties should be getting 3 Sweet 16 births.

Scott (kenton) wanted nothing to do with CovCath, Cov Holmes, or Cov Holy Cross after Ludlow moved out of the 35th!

 

I agree, all including Campbell County and Bishop Brossart should be in the Ninth. In all fairness to CC, BB and Scott, having to drive over a 100 miles (one way) to attend a Regional Basketball Tournament is just a bit much. To me at least it makes no sense at all.

 

BTW, One day the below will happen, mark my word on it:

 

Region 6 a Jefferson County District School

Region 7 a Jefferson County District School

Region 8 a Kenton County Distict school

Region 9 a Kenton County District school

Region 10 a Kenton County District school

 

Then wait to hear the howling and rightfully so, from the rest of the Commonwealth, when five of the sixteen teams in the Sweet Sixteen are from two county public schools systems! And some thought the Private/Public debate was huge!

Still doesn't compare to some of the distances in the 13th and 14th regions. Try driving from Irvine in Estill County to Whitesburg near the Virginia border. Probably 125 miles, maybe more. Also it's a good haul from McKee (Jackson County) to the Harlan County schools.

 

I agree that it is a little ridiculous that a county system has 3 schools in 3 different regions. I wasn't aware of that. I thought in silly enough that North and South Laurel were placed in different districts in the same region, but the Kenton situation takes the cake...and ice cream, too.

If Scott can pull the upset tomorrow each of the 3 Kenton County schools will have won a district championship this year, wow what a crazy year for sports.
