Your favorite memory as a Raceland Ram

Featured Replies

As a True Ram we are still living it every year the Rams take the field. The blood, sweat and bile we left on that field an in that weight room still pulsate through every teenager boy that takes that field. We are a family that corrects are young when they don't live up to their potential and hug them when they give their all. Hoof understands as does his assts. even if they didn't grad. from Raceland they have been adopted into this family. We can't explain Ram blood to our wives, girlfriends or anybody else if you haven't done it don't even ask. Our best memories are yet to come."So let it be written,so let it be done".

:thumb::thumb:Excellent!!!!!!

I thought I could hear the school fight song playing as I read your post!!!!:lol:

:thumb: :laugh:.......Every Raceland boy will shine, we will fight , fight , fight. On, on Raceland High..

Thanks 3 high, we too are proud of Aaron as we are of all graduates of Raceland High.

:thumb: We are pround of all that ever was, is or ever will be at Raceland!

Boss, one of you best literary endeavors. My heart rate went up a little, when I read it.

It's a Raceland thing, if you have to ask, you wouldn't understand.

:thumb::thumb:

People drive by Raceland schools everyday, and wonder what is so special about that school. If they would just stop and visit. Ask for permission from the superintendent to walk the halls, talk to the staff and students. Observe for a day. They would soon find out.

Another :thumb: Amen to this as well Ram, I have often had people ask "just what is so special that makes Raceland fans continue to support long after they have graduated?". Your post has basically said it all and that still really doesn't explain all of it, I don't think that anyone could - is just a feeling that will never leave. Just talk to most any alumni of this place no matter how long ago it was and you will get the exact same answer much more often than not.

Sounds like a start to a "Springsteen and the East Street Band" song Boss...:ylsuper: A few years ago I purchased a t-shirt that really says it about as well as anything could........."If, after all of these years you have to ask about Raceland Ram Football then you wouldn't understand" ;).

I have talked to alumni and fans of some other area schools, they seem to support and love their alma mater "if they are winning" :p.

At Raceland "Fair Weather Fans :irked:" are rarely heard, need not apply do not last long. :thumb:

Great posts guys! I enjoyed reading all of them and they are all very true. Raceland is truely a special place. That small school overflows with pride and tradition.

One of my favorite times during the season would have to be going through the team camps for a week during the summer. That week during the summer is hot, miserable, and can be very tough on a young man's body. The coaches are all over you during the 4 a-day practices (Offensive practice, Defensive practice, Special teams practice, and weightlifting). You are forced to wake up at 6 AM every morning and most of the time you dont get to sleep until after midnight. As horrible as this week is, some of my best memories with my teammates come from this week of camp. Being around your teammates 24/7 for a full 5 days really creates a since of unity and brotherhood that you never forget. The bonds made that week shape your desire and attitude for the whole season and you really are pushed to your limits. Its a challenging time I wouldnt trade those memories for anything.

I have many great memories associated with being a Ram but my favorite occured while standing next to my son in the high school library as he signed his Letter of Intent to play college football.

Cville, I bet that beat the summer practice grass drills and hearing those infamous words..."you gotta love em" and "do ya love em now cville?" :lol: My friend, that was one of your best stories.

I'll just say I was doing grass drills while everyone else was home eating supper. He didn't have to ask me that question again:lol:
