February 21, 200818 yr Have to agree with 5wide here....who would have thought that a team would want to run with the Suns (as they did last night) to beat them... The Lakers are better than the Suns in the open court, I really believe that. EVERY guy for LA can run, pass, and finish... they are also very good in the half court. Throw in the most clutch player and the best coach in the league... they HAVE to be the favorite at this point.
February 21, 200818 yr I didn't know how good Gasol was. Me either. His offensive style is fitting in perfectly with LA.
February 21, 200818 yr Mitch Kupcheck(spelling?) has done a phenominal job with the Lakers. It does not hurt to get a really good big man for the price of virtually nothing also. They, in my mind, are the favorites to win the Finals. They go 10 deep every night with their first 8 being possible starters on a lot of teams in the NBA, and that does not include Bynum.
February 21, 200818 yr The half time score of the Lakers game a few nights ago was like 70-something to 30-something right? They are for real.
February 21, 200818 yr 1. Watching Sportscenter (unfortunately), Bill Walton just asked why they double team Shaq in the post. I don't care how old he is, Shaq can score 1 on 1 in a half court setting on anyone in the league. 2. It didn't seem like Shaq helped much on the defensive end, but it was Kobe they were playing. If I were the Suns, I would hope that someone else can knock them off in the playoffs before they have to play them, especially when Bynum is back, because that will match them up even better with Amare. Was Bill Walton even watching the game? He said, several times there was no need to double Shaq in the paint. When they didn't double Shaq he scored almost every time. In fact, he made a few nice moves there in the 2nd half. When they did double him he turned the ball over. Personally, I dont like Walton at all.
