Henry Clay 80 Boone Co. 73

Featured Replies

I predicted Henry Clay by 8-12 so I guess 7 is close enough..., Since Im a fellow Rebel basketball player who now attends UK I went to watch my old team play tonight, some very questionable "homer" calls. Boone led by as much as 10 in the first half and lost the lead late in the 3rd, Todd Krohman lit it up tonight for Boone, not sure of point totals but him and Prince Stewart from HC had over 20 each.

Good win for Henry Clay. Outplayed BC down the stretch. Prince, Boyd and Nichols all had nice games. Kroham is a very very good ballplayer.

I hear that Henry Clay gets Victor Moses back on Thursday.

Henry Clay played one of their better games of the year. Especially with Moses still out (will be back Thursday against Lafayette). They are now starting to win some of the close ones. If they can integrated Moses back in, they will give Scott County a good fight next week in District Play.

Aaron Boyd and Victor Moses got their McDonalds all American nomination awards tonight. 2500 kids are nominated each year from across the county.

I think Setty and Darius got theirs Saturday night.

Good to see some KY kids getting some attention.

Yes, several homer calls, and a big disparity in HC's favor for free throw attempts, but Boone should have won anyway. You can't give up 80 and expect to win, and you can't repeatedly give up the baseline and drives down the lane and try to block shots after they go by. In general, the defense wasn't there. The game was very close in the 4th (1 point) until the end when Boone had to foul and HC was in the double bonus most of the 4th. Boone didn't seem to have any purpose or plays called on offense in the 4th, especially the last couple of minutes to get their shooters open. There was lots of standing around, not knowing what to do again. You can't expect just running from baseline to baseline to be able to get your shooters open if proper screens aren't set. It didn't work last year, and it doesn't work this year. In a nutshell though, offense is important, but Boone must play better man-to-man, positional defense and stay in front of people if they want to beat good teams.

Boone County is a very good team, and young. They'll be a top 10 team next year.

Tough loss for Boone against a good down state team. Sounds like their defense wasn't there tonight. Boone will have to pick it up with postseason play right around the corner.
