Who will be some of the top teams next season?

Most likely same ole suspects....Belfry, Central, Breathitt, Russell, Tilghman, Somerset, Sheldon Clark, Mason Co, Etown..

 

I do think Pad Tilghman will be very good. They were young in the trenches this year and they're defense has alot of returners from a pretty solid defense this past year..

Estill Co. should be loaded next season, but they have to get past Breathitt, and Harlan Co.

On paper, a rematch of last year's state finals looks very promising with Belfry returning nearly everyone, and Central returning several key players, especially on defense.

 

AAA will be a very, very strong class next year as several of the top contenders were in "reloading" mode last season, and stock full of young talent. Breathitt County and Russell appear to be loaded, and Paducah Tilghman also will see numerous returning starters.

 

Other teams with a good nucleus coming back: E'town, Estill County, Pike Central, and Mason County

 

The fact remains, that Belfry and Central absolutely looked great against other 3A teams and will be very, very good next year.

Breathitt will be loaded next year. The only thing I worry about with Breathitt is the QB. Jade Haddix will be in the first year running the Breathitt offense. He is somewhat smaller than Colby but is alot quicker. If Jade and up his level of play, they will go back to the ville.

Belfry returns nearly everyone off last year's team who defeated Breathitt 62-28.... it will take more than Haddix living up to his potential to secure a place in Louisville.

Louisville Central only has to replace 3 on defense: 1 corner and the 2 DE's. Cobble, Wilson, and Patterson all three D1 prospects will help the Yellowjackets return to the Big Dance. After watching that Championship game, teams in 3A better have an explosive offense.

Central does need to fill holes on their offense, losing 85% of there scoring. However, their defense should give them the ball in great scoring positions.
