Hilltopper2005 Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Lady Hounds hand the Fillies another tough 2 point loss on the Hilltop tonight. First game was 34-32 at Paris early in the season.
ladiesbballcoach Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Coach Brooks really has Coach Whitaker's number. Nice win for Paris.
Ridgerunner Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Any stats? Who played well for Paris? Harrison? Low scoring game!
hchs Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Paris tossed a shutout til the 4 minute mark or so of the second quarter, but led just 10-0. Harrison County went on a mini-run to cut the gap to 4 a tthat point. I think the Lady Hounds led by 4-7 (somewhere in that range) at halftime. HC tied it in the fourth quarter, and had a couple of possessions to take the lead, but couldn't convert. Down three with less than a minute to play, Laura Kendall hit what appeared to be a three-pointer to tie the game, but it was ruled that she had a foot on the arc. Kacey Muntz had a couple of shots inside the last 14 seconds or so to tie it up, including a good look from the free throw line area as the horn sounded. Hard fought game by both teams...not a hint of bad blood between the teams throughout the game..hard-fought, but cleanly played game.

It was a great game from the 2nd quarter on, when the Fillies finally woke up. Not to make excuses, but there is a lot to be said about not going through the normal routines of school. (HC has been out the last 3 days due to illness). Laura's foot was on the line, that Henson girl for Paris is tough! What year is she? Anyone else notice how lost the little referee was all night, he couldn't get a call right either way all night.

Hinkson is a Junior. She had 17 pts. Harrison had their chances to pull this one out, however this definitely was not the same Paris team we saw in the state tournament this past weekend.
