Clark kept in close for a half but the Royals were just to much. After seeing Clark Co play tonight, Mont Co is the 2nd best team in the region period.

An alright game for the Royals. They need to come out with the second half intensity in the first half instead of coming out so flat. Were down by 5 in the second quarter adn then went on a 15-1 run to end the half.

I know I'm missing two points but I can't think of where it came from.

What happened when MC played GRC this year? I really have no idea, its a serious question.

Keith got to play a lot. He had the duty of guarding Stenzel (sp) most of the night. But he looked to be close to full strength. I wouldn't say 100%.

Mont Co has beaten them 2 times. But in some of the polls GRC has been ahead of Mont Co. Mont Co is the better team than Clark Co.

Downing does make a difference to the Royals. I thought Darius was guarding Stenzel much of the time. Darius who is arguably the best defender in the state should be able to handle the freshman Stenzel. Stenzel is a player who is simply outstanding and will be a force in the years to come.

Setty hit some big shots tonight and although Middleton didn't score was a factor in other ways. All in all a very nice win for the Royals who are playing maybe their best ball of the year at the right time.

GRC is a very good team and will have to be reckoned with in the postseason as will Montgomery.

In the end, the best team won and that is not a surprise to anybody. But when you shoot around 25% and less than 50% from the free throw line you aren't going to beat many people...especially one of the top teams in the state.

 

One huge turning point in the game,imo, was where GRC was up by 1 or 2 points midway through the 2nd quarter. Mason was on a fast break and threw a pass up ahead and Masons' player had BOTH feet out of bounds(it was clear as day) and out of bounds was not called and it ended up a bucket for Mason. The whole gym was either complaining about the call(Clark fans), or laughing at the fact it wasn't called(Mason fans).. I even think the refs knew they missed that one..But that set the momentum for Mason who went on a 6-8 point run after that to close the half up a comfortable 9.

 

GRC just wasn't hitting their shots tonight and Mason made the plays to win the game, plain and simple. But honestly, I don't think Mason is playing nearly as good as they were earlier in the season...and really don't think Mason Co. will have a walk in the park like most think. Montgomery Co. is more than capable of beating them if they are on top of their game and Mason Co. is off...

GRC needs one (1) point guard. Too much driving and looking for a foul that was not going to be called (Typical for 10th region refs though. There for the check). Then not passing it back out. Drive, Draw and Dish. I thought all knew the 3 D's that know fundamentals. Mason has a good team. Though beatable. Congrats and Good Luck.
