kysportsfan4life Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Final on Senior Night. Brossart was down by more than 20 in the first half, came back in the second half to cut it to 15 outscoring Mason County 17-6 in the 3rd quarter, but that's as close as they got it. Mason County says goodbye to their 3 seniors: Cline, Chambers and Litzinger. They will be sorely missed. Chambers 23, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks Litzinger 16 Cline 18 K. Menke 9 Smith 7 Queen 2 For anyone that was there, what was the pregame ceremony for the seniors like?

Congrats too these fine young ladies. The times I have got to see them play has been enjoyable.
mcpapa Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Congrats to the Lady Royals on the win and to the three seniors in particular. The pre-game ceremony was the same as it has been for the past couple of years, at least. The young ladies are escorted onto the floor by their parents, presented with momentos and walk to the home side of the gym. De'Sarae was also honored for becoming MC's all-time leading scorer (boys or girls) in last weekend's game at Rowan County.
IC Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Congrats LadyRoyals. Is Saturday's game @ Montgomery considered a big game or not???

To nail down Senior Night last night in comparison to years past was a little different. In years past there hasn't been a recognition quite the same with the 3 seniors in regards to what they meant to a program like Chambers, Cline, and Litzinger. There hasn't been a all time leading scorer in Mason County history recognized in years past. In years past the choir has performed My Kentucky Home and The National Anthem and last night Mary Middleton did them both which I might add she can hit a note like no other.....and finally last night was unlike years past where there was a tremendous crowd in the house! Where in the heck have all you guys been all season? Lets see you over at Montgomery County Saturday night in the much anticipated matchup of the regular season. Game time is 7:30 as a reminder!
mcpapa Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Agreed that there has NEVER been a senior class like this one at Mason County! The reason the choir wasn't there is that something like 8 of their best are at all-state choir in Louisville along with the choir director. And you're right - Mary Middleton is a fantastic singer. My point was that the actual ceremony honoring the seniors was similar to those in years past, which to me is appropriate. If you're a senior, you should get the same recognition for your contribution whether you come off the bench or if you're a superstar; and that's how it was handled last night. All in all a nice night at the Earle Jones gymnasium - nice ceremony, entertaining game, who could ask for more?
LIVINGOUTADREAM Posted February 8, 2008 Posted February 8, 2008 Couldn't ask for anything more at "The Lady Royals Gymnasium" on the Earl D. Jones Court. I thought the eighth grader Katilyn Smith had a great night. She is going to be a great one down the road.

kysportsfan4life Posted February 8, 2008 Author Posted February 8, 2008 Yes, and she tossed in 7 points. Yeah, I caught that part, just missed the first half of the game.
