West Jessamine's New Football Coach Is....

Coach Wood has made it official this morning by accepting the West Jessamine football position.

 

Already living and teaching in Nicholasville, Wood has decided to make a return to coaching after taking last season off. Before that, Coach Wood guided Morgan County to back to back playoff births and the school's first playoff win in 2004.

 

Coach Wood is extremely gifted. He has an incredible football mind and does his job the right way.

 

Congratulations to Coach Wood and West Jessamine is very lucky to have a coach of his caliber in charge.

West Jessamine needs something good to happen for them. The kids played hard last year for Jodie Hamilton after their coach left in the middle of the season. I hope this is the boost that West needs because their is alot of talent walking those halls.

Congrats to a great man and coach. West is going to be a work in progress but Randy Wood will find a way to make this program better and succeed, he just needs the help of the administration.

I think most people will come to like and embrace Coach Wood. All that I have hear about him has always been very good. He might be what West Jessamine has been needing.

What type of O&D does he run. Will he be able to do that with the kids at West? Good luck to him and his team, he will have an up hill climb.

Offensively the Triple Option....fit very well at Morgan and was not an offense that was ever totally stopped.

 

In three years, only scored less than 2 TD's (2) times. That is quite an amazing stat.

 

Very fundamentally sound...Morgan was excellent especially at blocking along the perimeter and down field stalk blocking with their receivers.

 

Was funny watching teams try to blitz them. They will throw it and be effective also.

Coach Wood is the most honest man I have ever come in contact with. Will not just tell you what you want to hear...will tell you the truth...players, coaches, parents, and fans.

 

I just wonder if his radio show at West Jessamine (if they have one) could possibly be as funny and energetic as his show was here...please ask him, for those that may ever see him, to give some examples...you will crack up.
