What does Pike County Central need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They need to build around(if possible) that good young QB they have.

Pike Central has a legitimate shot of gaining a home playoff game next year. Sheldon Clark was hit really hard by graduation and the Hawks have an excellent core of young players returning including QB Aaron McGuire (sp?). The biggest loss the Hawks have to endure is ATH Quirvhon Merchant who was their big play guy. They also lost a couple good lineman, but by and large return the brunt of their skill players.

 

The key to Central's success lie squarely in the offseason. Pike Central does not have alot of depth, and it seemed as though conditioning played a major role in a few of their games, especially in the trenches. They also didn't have the sheer strength to match up against the likes of Belfry and SC. A strong offseason in the weight room could pay huge dividends for PC.

 

If Central can develop a consistent/balanced offense and an improved run defense, they could very well earn the 2nd spot in the district.
