2008 Paul Dunbar

Featured Replies

What does Paul Dunbar need to do to improve in 2008? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

Defensively:

Quadae Singleton and Patrick Spickard are solid returners on the d-line. Marquis Clay, Jerelle Green and others are apart of a great secondary. Th only unit that may be questionable is the linebacker unit with the loss of Nick Edlestien and others.

Offensively:

In the backfield they return the quarterback in Marquis Clay and two beasts in Jerelle Green and Steven Willis. The offensive line should be solid anchored by Eric Ayers. The wide recievers are led by Jerelle Green and Martaveous Mays.

A solid unit that will the team to beat in Lexington 6A this year. These kids just need to buy into the coaching philosophy and they can go as far as they want to go.

Buy into what coaching philosophy? Don't get me wrong, I like Hensley, but every week they were running something different or had a different list of plays for the kids to learn. If they stuck with the option the beat Tates Creek, the athletes they have, would have been a much more productive offensive and true offensive philosophy to buy into.

Believe me every team adds a couple of new plays according to the team they play. These kids just don't get that " Hey if we listened to the coaches, we can be pretty darn good." As soon as they realize this, the sky is the limit.

Are they adding anyone to the coaching staff?

Jerelle Green was offered by UK a couple days ago

How many plays did Dunbar run this past season? How many offensive formations did they have. I heard and saw a lot of different things they done, and really didn't to well at they all.

I think to be successful at the high school level, you need to take your players, find an offense and mold your kids to it. Do 1 or 2 things well, rather thand 7-8 and hardly be effective.

Thats what I was trying to clarify.
