Seriously, everyone in the stands saw that Pettit was hanging onto Tolle's leg for dear life; Jackson got caught retaliating.

 

Pettit is pretty smooth close to the basket; limited otherwise. I felt sorry for Rowan's ball handlers in the first half when the Mason County press was on; they just had a horrible time. Friendly advice to the Vikings #5 - watch the undercuts; someone might get hurt one of those times. Almost happened tonight.

 

Mason just looked really sharp tonight on both sides of the ball. It's easy to look good when you're 12-20 from behind the arc; seems like Darius was something like 3-3 and Trevor missed 1 or maybe 2 at the most. Lots of PT for the 2nd and 3rd teams in this one, even though only 11 scored, everyone got significant minutes.

 

I was even more impressed with the defense; forcing nearly 30 turnovers, up 71-33 after three quarters. Finished the first quarter with a 28-4 run. Even if you're not scoring (and that wasn't the case this time) you can still play defense! Again unveiled a zone for just a little while; giving other coaches something to think about at tourney time?

 

Much tougher assignment in the next game at Madison Central.

He should just feel lucky to still be on the team kids have been kicked off for less.He is a project at best and needs to refine his skills before he tries to play at the varsity level.If he sticks around next year he might be a good player but he has alot of work to do.
