A very nice win for a Boyd County team that has struggled all year.

Russell was 18 - 27 from 2 point range for 67% and 19 - 37 overall for 51%.

They were also 8 - 14 from the FT line for 57%.

They had 11 blocked shots, 11 assists, & 7 steals.

Most of the time you would expect to win with these stats.

 

BUT........

 

They committed 29 turnovers. That is hard to overcome. Boyd's pressure was good but several of the turnovers were simple bad passes with people open. Over 70 turnovers in 2 games in the last 2 weeks (Rowan & Boyd). Russell has to do a better job protecting the ball if they want to make a run at the region championship.
