Williamstown 59 Grant Co. 55

Featured Replies

Final.

Freshmen Tori Wilhoit and Chelsea West lead Williamstown with 18 and 13 points respectfully. Grant Co. did a nice defensive job on Jaclyn Stith, but the other players stepped up tonight. Nice win for the Lady Demons.

Another tough loss for Grant County, who led until the 3rd. Williamstown played a zone for the first half. They came out in a full court press & went man to man for the 2nd half. Grant County played well, but it wasn't quite enough tonight.

On a sidenote, the Williamstown team & their coach gave Grant County's Candace Gorby, sidelined the rest of the season with an ACL injury, a get well card signed by the whole Williamstown team & coaches. Gorby was humbled & brought to tears by the gesture (in addition to the tears she shed after the loss). Isn't that what athletics is all about? Great sportmanship & a great deal of respect shown to a fellow athlete.

Congrats to the Lady Demons on the win. Keep your heads up Grant County...a lot of season is left!

Coach Wilhoit and his girls are a class act. Congratulatioms to both teams. It sounds like a great game between these two rivals.

Good win for the Lady Demons. Great show of class by Coach Wilhoit and the girls.:thumb:

Is that the same coach that complains about every call! Even the ones that happened a century ago.

Grant County's Shayna Lockard scored a game high 21pts. She has been working hard & it is showing on the court.

Same coach. He complains almost as much as the Gallatin Co coach IMO. Still a nice gesture on his team's part. I am just glad his team overcame his shortcomings as a coach to pull out the win.

Are you kidding me 1734 that guy does more with less than anyone around. I would say next year they will have a chance to win their conference and the A. With a young team you have worry about every call and possession to make sure your team stays in the game.

It is amazing to me how everyone else can be congratulating a coach for being a class act and citing specific examples of such and you pull out that. Sounds like sour grapes to me. if Williamstown and Coach Wilhoit keep up the good work and keep upsetting teams like Grant and Gallatin even more people will have something to complain about. I guess Coach Wilhoit should just take your comments in stride, it shows he is doing something right or you would not bother bashing him.

Congratulations to Coach Wilhoit and the girls of Williamstown. If I am not mistaken, that makes them tied for the three seed in the 32nd District. If they beat Walton-Verona they would have the three seed by themselves. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

From what i hear that would be correct. Both they and Grant have 1 win. If W'town beats W.V. they will get the 3 seed. If they lose i wonder what the tie breaker is. Most do a coin flip. Who is the luckies coach.

You are correct, she played very well for Grant Co. Also #14 Plunkett also played well for GC. I think GC will be fine once the players settle into their new roles due to the injury to Gorby. Good luck to them in the upcoming games.

Your post is a total lack of class.:madman:
