Fear 'Les' 13th Regional Ratings Jan. 17-Jan. 23

I totally agree with your rankings besides the fact Jackson Co. is ranked higher than Pineville. North Laurel is the only tough regional foe they have defeated. I have Pineville above them based on the fact they beat a team this season that the school has failed to defeat in at least over a decade possibly two decades(Bell Co.). They also happen to have the best record in the region at the 15-2 mark. Not only do I think Pineville is the better team but I feel they have accomplished more.

I have faith Pineville will prove better than the fifth best team in the region before the seasons end.

Other than the ranking of those two teams keep up the good work Les!

Pineville has Red Bird, possibly Middlesboro, possibly Cumberland, Knox Central, Corbin, and Clay County coming up. They will get their chance to show they belong in the top 4. If they can win the All A region that would definitely boost their ranking. Right Les?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again... Pineville is a veteran ball club and has one of the better coaches in the state, when it matters they will be fine.

I totally agree.:thumb:

I heard Cumberland struggled last night against Harlan. You might be right Les about Cumberland. You could put Knox Cenral, Jackson County and Pineville in front of them and not be wrong.

The next couple of weeks should begin to separate some teams

From what I heard Cumberland only had a 7 point lead late in the 3rd.

Cumberland didnt shoot the ball well the first half, but scored 43 points the second half, but as usual they played tenacious defense. To Harlans credit they came out the first half and played well defensively.

I was told Harlan had no one that could slow down Johnson or Wilson. Those two are great players.

Cumberland seems to be weak at the guard position. I watched them on WYMT and thought their guards turned the ball over to much. You need guards who can take care of the ball when you play in tight games. They will need their defense if they are going back to Richmond this year. I still think they can win the region, but Wilson and Johnson had better play well.
