SouthernSportsFan
This was really a fifty-point game the entire contest, although the scoreboard may not have indicated that. Danville made some buckets late with the very last reserves on the floor for McCreary to make it a 41-point game. McCreary jumped out early, going up 23-0 before Danville ever scored a point. gchs_uk9
Danville wasn't a very good team to begin with. Losing Leonard Macon finished them off.
Wireman
I attended the Danville/Boyle co. game recently and I must say that Danville is the most fundamentally weak team I have ever watched play. And I have watched a lot of basketball. They play hard and they have some talented kids, but something is definately missing.
SouthernSportsFan
Like someone else said here earlier... Danville has the athletes... but they don't have the basketball players.
SLINK
Big win for the Raiders. And I mean BIG.

SouthernSportsFan
I don't think it falls on the players. I didn't say it did. They don't really know the fundamentals. They are muscled around easily, however, they guard very good in their man-to-man.

Boyle County looked like they were running layup drills in the game I watched. And they gave up 91 points in this game. That doesn't sound like good man-to-man defense to me. Just my opinion, or course.
SouthernSportsFan
When the did play it, they can play it good. However, their overall defense is poor. During the fourth quarter (maybe it was because the refs were taking it easy on Danville then), the Admirals were playing an up-in-your-face man-to-man.. Wireman
Maybe they can build off that, then.
ADopted ADmiral
I was at that Boyle/Danville game...I agree with Wireman as far as the Fundamentals go these guys are not even out of the gate...IMO The first half of practice Coach Yates should take the ball away and just work on Defensive drills...Second half of Practice only use the ball for ball control drills and passing drills...The only shots taken in practice would be Free throws...:thumb:
Wireman
I agree AA. They have enough talent to be a nice little ball club, but they have alot of work to do.

They definitly have the talent... IMO...For these guys to be successful, every practice needs to be a boot camp...Kind of like football...:ylsuper:
