January 10, 200818 yr I'm a very big fan of both men. Tubby IMO is the better pure coach, there aren't more than 2 or 3 I'd take over him in that regard, while Coach G. is the far superior recruiter.... I can agree with this, good post. :thumb: (All of it but especially the highlighted part)
January 10, 200818 yr BCG can coach and so can Tubby as mobaar said. I would have loved to see Tubby come back, but he did what he did and is doing good up in Minnesota. BCG can coach as well you see what he did with Acie Law IV. Tubby didn't leave much but that is no excuse to lose to Gardner-Webb! If Jodie would have played they would probably would have one that game, but he didn't an that is nobody's fault and we will all have to live with that the rest of are life. Billy Clyde and Acie Law IV never went to the final four or won a Big 12 championship! Are those UK standards??? Tubby has won both.

Yes Tubby won the conference at Tulsa, and took Tulsa to the sweet sixteen probably a greater feat than taking Texas A&M to the sweet sixteen. Tubby also would have won the SEC in 97 @ Georgia if not for the Unbelievable UK teams of that stretch. Tubby also has never had the off the court problems as well. He always represented the state of KY with so much class!

No, the recruiting was not very consistent in his last 4 years. Yes, lots of fans got restless. Yes, his move to Minnesota was a breath of fresh air for him and his family and the Kentucky Basketball Program. Folks, I am irritated with him and his former staff with the way they recruited the last 4 years. However, I wish him the best at Minnesota. Let Billy G. do his thing in recruiting. He will get us back where we all want to be. I know most of you guys are passionate about UK , just as I am. But we all need to move forward and concentrate on the present and the future. Don't look back in the rearview mirror at the past. Let it go and move forward. I know it is hard because it has been hard for me. But, let's all move forward because the future is very bright for the University of Kentucky.

I also like the fact that Tubby would have won the title at Georgia if not for UK being better. Thats a GREAT argument. Tubby also would've won the NCAA title every year if not for all those teams that were better.

Myself BB I don't like BCG but I think he is a good coach. Tubby IMO is a better coach, I really wish he would have stayed at UK then we wouldn't have lost to GW. Tubby would have had the boys pumped and ready to play!
