You think the NC2A will give him another year?

You think the NC2A will give him another year?

I doubt it. The staff seems to think it's above 50/50, but I'd go with 20/80 from what I have been told and researched...

What grounds is he trying to use to get the extra year, didn't he play 3 at Wake and this one at Cincy?

He redshirted as a FROSH. He played as a RS FROSH and SOPH and in game 1 as a 4th year JR his arm was destroyed in the 1st half. He took advantage of the Post Grad rule that allowed a transfer without sitting out a year to play a 5th year in Cincy. Giving him the extra year would set a lot of new precedents that I don't believe the NCAA will allow...

Well I thought taht if you played less than half a season and get injured, you can usually get a med redshirt, why didnt he get one of those? Or does it have to do with the fact that he graduated? Seems like they have a decent shot if he only played 1 game of one of those years...Isnt this similar to Tommy Cook or am I remembering wrong?

It's a very rare case, and the NCAA isn't fond of giving guys 6 years to play 4 when a FROSH redshirt is involved. Most guys that get it have 2 medical redshirt seasons, and that's not the case here...

I hope he gets it, he's hard nose, that scar on his arm is sick, I saw some piece on him the other day, saying in practice they use youth footballs to keep his arm from getting too tired

If you think the scar is sick on TV, you should see it in person. NASTY. For Ben, I want him to get the extra year more than anything. I just doubt it happens based on what the NCAA rules on situations even close to this. I'll hold firm in the fact that he took UC to 10 wins this year after what happened is nothing short of remarkable...

Was Legion Field and the surrounding area as decrepit as I have been told I was?

Did they sell Papa John's Pizza inside?

Last year they couldn't sell Papa Johns pizza and the Papa John's Bowl due to a contract with Donatos and Legion Field.

That right there is funny.

It looked like a war zone. Burned out, boarded up and falling down houses. They could sell Papa John's, but more often than not, they were out at the concession stands.

The rest of Birmingham was pretty nice, but the area around the field was a disaster...

Why not have the Papa John's bowl at say.....Papa Johns stadium? That doesnt make a whole lot of sense to me

Last year was the first year of this bowl game, and it was late in the process without a title sponsor. My guess is Papa John's stepped in to help the Big East and Louisville...
