Does staying in the Hotel or travelling up the day of make a difference to any team? Travel distance might encourage some teams to travel. ST. X, T obviously don't have to. Are there any teams this year that will stay? Will any teams "go college" and stay in the Hotel, even though it may not be neccessary due to travel?

I would almost guarantee teams like Belfry who probably have a 4-5 hour drive and a 3:30 start time will stay in a hotel. I know my senior year when we won state, we (Breathitt Co.) stayed in the same hotel as Mayfield's team. It was pretty cool because their fans cheered for us when we left for our game, it was a nice gesture.

Word is that Lone Oak will be leaving on Friday morning to stay the night in Louisville - not sure where they will practice on Friday before their Saturday game, but they are definitely coming early to Louisville. Also heard through the grapevine that Lone Oak has been practicing at Murray State University this week to get a feel for a larger stadium - that is about 45 minutes travel one-way from the Paducah area to Murray. This seems like a lot of extra time dedicated to the week just for traveling to practice (1.5 hrs) or maybe they are getting out of school early to practice? Any more information on this?

Is it leagal to get out of school to practice this time of year?

Lone Oak has left this morning from Paducah and should arrive in Lousiville about 1pm EST. They have also been practicing on Murray State's new fieldturf this week.

Nope. I wouldn't do anything to jeopardize their precious sleep, they need it to win another state title today =]

7:30 start time lets HHS handle this as "business as usual". (though we know it definitely isn't!) Full school day, typical road trip routine to L'Ville (we've done the L'Ville/Lex/ Richmond road thing this season). Dale keeping things "normal".

I loved the clip on 9 last night showing Thursday night's practice. All of the kids in their FTJFL jerseys.

Go Blue Team (it was gold back in the Jay McFarland days) We used kerosene footballs then.

O-Line wins this game for the Birds!
