CovCath stays in 4A

Highlands stays in 3A

What two teams would be in the Championship games in:

3A

4A

5A

If we'd have stayed 3A, we'd would have had to get past a very good Belfry team to make it to the championship and if CovCath had had to stay 4A, they would have had to get past a very good Lex Cath team to make it there also. While I think we'd have beaten Belfry in a good game, I'm not sure that CovCath would have beaten Lex Cath based upon our matchups. Then again, CovCath was playing good ball at the end of the year, so maybe they would have done it. Dixie might have also made it there in 5A, but Dixie was so up and down, who knows.

3A Highlands vs. Belfry

4A (Same) Lexington Cath vs. Lone Oak

5A Lincoln County vs. Bowling Green

But this would all depend on where they would be placed in their regions and districts.

What district would HHS and CCHS have been in in 3A and 4A?

Assuming both would have stayed in the east

3A Central v Highlands

4A Lone Oak v LexCath

5A Bowling Green v Dixie

I would have liked to have seen that HHS/Belfry matchup. I'm assuming it would have been in the semis, and it would have been at Belfry (since they hosted them). HHS is just on a different plane than everyone else besides X and T, so they would get my vote. But, in the past it is teams like this Belfry team who have matched up well with them. Big, physical, hard pounding teams. So I think it would have been a very very entertaining ball game.

In the end, I think Highlands made the right choice in playing up. :D

On second thought, I found the draft alignment before Highlands was moved up out of 3A and they had them in District 4, in the west. CovCath was in District 5 in 4A in the east.

CLASS 3A

District-3-1- Muhlenberg South, Paducah Tilghman, Union County, Webster County

District-3-2- Adair County, Butler County, Edmonson County, Hart County

District-3-3- Central, Elizabethtown, Moore, Shawnee

District-3-4- Henry County, Highlands, North Oldham, Spencer County, Western Hills

District-3-5- Casey County, Garrard County, Jackson County, Taylor County, Wayne County

District-3-6- Breathitt County, Cawood, Estill County, Magoffin County, Powell County

District-3-7- East Carter, Fleming County, Lewis County, Mason County, Russell, West Carter

District-3-8- Belfry, East Ridge, Pike County Central, Sheldon Clark

CLASS 4A

District-4-1- Calloway County, Hopkins County Central, Lone Oak, Muhlenberg North

District-4-2- Allen County-Scottsville, Franklin-Simpson, Logan County, Russell County, Warren East

District-4-3- Atherton, Breckinridge County, Fairdale, Valley, Western

District-4-4- Bullitt East, Larue County, Marion County, North Bullitt

District-4-5- Bourbon County, Covington Catholic, Harrison County, Pendleton County

District-4-6- Boyle County, East Jessamine, Franklin County, Lexington Catholic, West Jessamine

District-4-7- Bell County, Knox Central, Madison Southern, McCreary Central, Rockcastle County

District-4-8- Boyd County, Greenup County, Lawrence County, Rowan County

So I guess my vote for 3A would be Highlands vs Belfry in the championship and that would have been even more fun.

I agree it would have still been Lexington Catholic vs Lone Oak in 4A, but that Lex Cath vs Cov Cath game would have been a good one and depending on where it would have been played, it might have been Cov Cath on top.

CovCath would have gone through this district like poop through a goose.

I don't know if they would have gotten past LexCath, but they would have smoked the district.

Don't count Harrison County out, they had a good season to be injury plagued.
