ESPN reported that Michigan has ask for and been granted permission to talk with Les Miles about the vacant Michigan Football Coaching Position.

Was also stated that they (Michigan) had gained permission but not untill after the SEC Championship game this Saturday and also LSU has scheduled talks with Miles about a contract extension.

I say Les Miles will be the next Michigan Coach. Just a matter of when it is announced.

Seems they did give Ferentz a good look based on the President's ties to hiring him at Iowa, but I agree. They did a nice job diverting attention while they waited. And I said from day 1 Kelly was never an option... ;)

Have learned over time that your sources are usually dead on.....:thumb:

I never thought Kelly would be an option. I just think it would be a terribly hard sell to the Michigan brass. I don't know how you'd pitch a guy that was at Central Michigan 2 years ago as being your #1 candidate. Don't get me wrong, I think he's a terrific coach, I just don't think it would have been a great fit for either involved.

Miles is the right man for the job, and at the perfect time. UM needs him to get back to the Michigan ways of doing things. I have been against Carr since about 2000, but I do have repect for the man. He ran a clean program and for 99% of the programs in the country was very successfull. Miles brings excitement and intensity back on the sideline. I only hope he keeps Ron English and fires Debord. ( If he is the next coach)

He is... ;)
I believe you are 100% correct on this. I have also heard Miles agent is in Baton Rouge tonight. Speculation is he is trying to negotiate the buyout. Have you heard any of this?
