14th Region Predictions

Featured Replies

Wow.............Jackson City ahead of Lee and Estill.......Lee Beats JC by 19......and Estill Beats lee by 4

And Lee also beat Powell by 3.

And Estill just lost to PCC.

Kinda like the Cantrall or Lit ratings....no rhyme nor reason.

Actually, all some people do are go to the khsaa scoreboard for the region and list them more or less by w/l regardless of who beat who or the level of competition.

Not to mention, the Estill/Lee game was a blow out until late. He also left out Owsley county from the list.

RE: Lee/Estill game

Lee led at the end of the first qtr.

Estill 32/30 at the half.

Estill outscored Lee 23-11 in the third

Lee outscored Estill by 10 in the fourth but still fell short by 4 pts

Don't see how it was in any way a blowout. Estill hit several treys in the third, and if Lee had hit one more in the fourth it would have been anybody's game. (Lee fouled Estill in the last minute which added some freethrows). Again, how a blow out? Estill won 2 qtrs, Lee won 2 qtrs. Estill won the game by 4 basically due to a red hot Napier. They deserved the win, and got it. But not a blow out. And all this took place on Estill's home floor.

It ended up not being a blow out, because Estill took their foot off the gas, and Lee's throat, in the 4th quarter and let them scratch their way back into the game. They also put up stupid shots down the end instead of milking the clock.

What are everyones thoughts on the 14th Region? I love to watch highschool basketball and am going to be moving in that area. Can some of you give me your complete rankings of all 16 teams top to bottom so I can get some insight on how each team will be and make it better to pick which games I go to.

How far off is Hazard and PCC from being the top dogs and rivals in the region again?

Will Breathitt shine with all the talented players?

Is June Buchannen going to get beat with Stepp?

How far off is Jackson City from competing with Davidson?

Why dont Riverside just join the KCSAA like other small christian schools? .....

Breathitt didn't shine too bright at Cordia in their season opener! :dancingpa

You have to say a win is a win, and playing on road and your first game it was a good win, because Cordia will beat a lot of teams in 14th region. The football players are just getting to practice and little rusty on offence but looked good defensively, things will come together after a few games.

Just getting to practice, what do you mean? They cancelled games for 2 wks so they could practice, they should be clicking by now, first game or not! They have had all the time in the world, most teams played the next day after getting beat out of the football playoffs, don't understand why they wanted to wait so long to start for.

Breathitt plays a good Jackson City team in a county rivalry tonight, should be a good one. They better be clicking tonight or Davidson and the Tigers will come out on top.

Why does it bother you so bad that they postponed a few games. You have made that comment two or three times now. Where you wanting to watch these early games or something.

Don't bother me at all, would of liked to get a look at them to see how they are going to be, but that is their perogative when they play I guess. Just was wondering the reasoning behind it? The season is short enough already, just wondering why they would want to shorten it another 2 wks and cancel some pretty good games and "GATES" for the schools.

Will tell you they have rescheduled them games they missed in January, and they had better play their best against Jackson City and i hope they do play a hard good game. Should be a sell-out crowd here tonight. Jackson City is a good team and we will see just how much more practice we need, i say we will get it from now on till the season ends. Just to let you know the football players took a day or two off so they could heal up physically and mentally it always help if you do that. We are so proud of our student athletes, and hope the best for each of them.

Congleton will provide all the spark that the Bobcats need when he takes the hardwood in the near future--?????Rumor was that he was going to play last night--is that what the coach said--or was it tonight against Jackson??
