There was a wee bit of sarcasm in my response...

 

BUT some people from Evarts and Cumberland might say that there MIGHT be some prejudice with how the middle school football is done. Of course, you'll be a defender to the end so this argument will go no where for them.

 

I just hope that there is a coach from outside the county that comes in that the kids from ALL teams will feel comfortable with. I'm sure all the kids are uncertain as to how they will be treated and if someone from the county is hired there will always be that "what if"...You hire someone from Evarts or Cumberland....Cawood people will be second guessing....Hire someone from Cawood the other two will have questions.

 

So to make it to where everyone is o.k. with it....go outside the county.

 

I'm in favor of getting someone that will treat ALL of these kids fairly and there won't be a question about it. I truly am for the kids of this county and I DO look forward to watching these kids compete together.

Why would he leave Whitley for Harlan? Homes home, but I can't agree about big things next year unless there are some changes in philosophy.

Mike Whitaker would seem to be a good fit. He has had success at several schools. He is not from Harlan but his home is close enough that he could identify with the Harlan County kids.

I still have a good feeling that Jay Cobb from Somerset will be the coach for the Blackbears!!! I don't know this for sure but I have a funny feeling it might happen. I guess only time will tell.

John Reynolds has done a good job a Cumberland, a 1A School. I would think we would be looking to bring in a TOP name.

I expect most of the coaches to be someone not currently coaching in the county, but I doubt any coach would be prejudiced against one group of players over another. Every coach I've met wants to win and plays the best players. The fans are the ones worried about where someone is from, not the coaches.

Honestly, It would not be a suprise to see him move up to a bigger school sooner or later under the right circumstance.

Cobb would be a good fit. He can definetly coach.

I would love to see Cobb come to Harlan County... that would be a good fit for the new school... but i dont think J.B can handle a school that size, he has a hard time at Harlan.....

I would think Cobb, being from Western Kentucky, would only make a move back home if he did take another job.
