Nothing like working together for the common good. I understand the law and title IX but dang it, it is not the kids fault and they are the ones who are going to pay the price, not the school system. BUT there should have been plans made to build baseball and softball fields at the same time, or with the football facilities, maybe softball should have come first. But don't punish the kids who just want to play.:argue:

Plans were made and the Baseball field, was on grade prior to the construction of the school. Grass was even growing but it was used, to store construction materials and an office location, during the construction project.

 

The Softball field, was going at the base of the hill, behind the school building but various factors, resulted in the change.

Don't punish the kids but punish the individuals who mismanaged the Title 9 issue and thought it did not apply to them. That would be a novel idea!!!!!!!!!!!

Title IX is outdated and needs to be looked at. It has gotten to the point of ridiculous. In many cases it has tilted in the other diection with the boys being left out, which is fine with Title IX committee members.

Doubt it, because as soon as it is finished, the softball parents and coaches are going to the Title 9 office and filing a grievance. Can't have a super nice baseball field and not even have softball field, major violation. It might look nice and be ready to play on this season, but if the softball team don't have one or is not allowed to play on it too, they will keep the doors locked on it until they can get the girls a field too.

 

Ask the folks at Lex Bryan Station how long their new press box/concession stand was empty until a new field and box was built for the ladies.
