I liked the list being formulated by the 9th region guys/gals, so lest do it for the 11th.

 

My Personal Top 10(No Bud Mackey, no Aaron Boyd, don't know if he's playing this year, if he does then he is on the list.)

1. Victor Moses Henry Clay, he is the best post in the 11th and has really improved recently.

 

2. Shelvin Mack- Bryan Station, great talent, smooth with the ball should go D1

 

3. Michael Sparks- Tates Creek, has never been asked to be the man, he will this year. He has already comitted D1 to VMI.

 

4. Aaron Morris- Mad. Central, natural ability would dictate Morris a #1 ranking but he floats to the perimeter way too much.

 

5. Taylor Stewart-Lex. Catholic, 6'5 physical gurads who are dead eye shooters don't come around every day. He reminds me of david Graves, but is just a notch below.

 

6. Nathan Novosel-Lex Catholic, a 6'5 big with good post skills,heard he is working on perimeter game to adjust to college game.

 

7. Dante Stewart-Lafayette, a pure shooter, will need to show more leadership for Lafayette to rebound.

 

8. Jordan Smart-Lex. Catholic-another excellent shooter has already accepted a prefered walk-on role with Vandy.

 

9. Keshawn Simpson-Mad. Central-atheltic post player who will only improve with age, but he needs to mature a little bit, I think he will.

 

10. Richie Phares-Scott Co. ,watching him improve on a day to day basis leads me to believe that he will step up in the absence of a "star" this year in Georgetown , being 6'6 doesn't hurt.

Curious about this statement. If he is a good three-point shooter, what is wrong with this? He is not going to be a four or five in college. One hears the same comment about Darius Miller.

1. Taylor Stewart -- Improved athleticism, very good summer. IMO no doubt #1.

2. Aaron Morris -- Good size. Can hurt you inside or out.

3. Shelvin Mack -- D-1 talent and now has most of the scoring load with Jones gone.

4. Victor Moses -- Best post in the region.

5. Micheal Sparks -- D-1 commitment, should have a big year.

I do have to wonder about Jordan Lee in your top 10, especially at 7. A 6'7 or so guy that might get 8 and 8 a game if he stays out of foul trouble?

Vince Sanford had way more upside than Dante Stewart for Lafayette, can't believe Dante will be on the list at the end. Also Montel Morones from Bryan Station is a possible.

Before the end of the year any of these following players IMO could end up in the top 10.

Can't disagree with Mack at 2, he is a known quantity.

Obviously the season will answer a lot of these questions. I saw Phares play this summer, and I don't believe he is on a top 10 list just to get a Scott Co. player on there. He is a very nice player. Also, I'm not sure Victor Moses will be the best player in the region, depending on how Henry Clay uses him.

Aaron Morris is an ok shooter from deep, but he would be much more effective if he went to the post. He doesn't need to live underneath, just take advantage of his gifts. He could a lot more rebounds if he wasn't always hanging out by the 3-pt. line. He needs to do what is best for his team.

Funny you say that. I can think of a few of the kids that get a lot of play on this web site where that is the last thing on their mind.

 

I didn't comment regarding Phares, but I will say he will benefit greatly by playing alongside Jordan Lee just as Smart and Stewart and Novosel complement each other. You can't double team everyone.
