BluegrassPreps.com and the Kentucky News Network are once again working together to promote high school football in Kentucky.

We are currently taking nominations for the BGP/KNN player of the week! The player of the week can be from any team and is based on game performance from this weekend.

Please submit your nomination in this thread and provide as much background/stats/information as possible from their game this week.

Also, from host Al Mayo:

Sorry I'm a bit tardy getting back to you guys but, I'm here now.

First of all, this award applies only to VARSITY players.

Whenever you place a name for nomination, I need the following to be listed.

Player name, position, class (Soph, jr, sr. etc).

Stats for the week's performance. Carries, yards gained pass att/comp...tackles etc.

Please do not estimate stats. Just telling me a player may have run for 150 yards, won't make the cut.

Ideally a listing would look like this---

"Bob Smith a 5'1" Tailback from Smithville High School gained 100 yards on 10 carries. He also caught 4 passes for 30 yards in a 14-0 win over Jones High School"

OR

Bob Smith, a 5'1" QB from Smithville High School completed 15 of 20 passes for 100 yards, and 1 TD as the Smiths beat Jonesville 14-0.

Otherwise, post as many players as you like if you think they merit a mention. ALL Players listed will be used on the show as nominees, so their stats and performace will be included. A Ploayer Of The Week will be chosen from the weekly nominees.

Thanks in advance for the help, and have a GREAT season!

KNN High School Scoreboard Show

Let's get these in folks! I need them by Thursday afternoon!

Bryan Station's Terrell Combs who has committed to Minnesota, had 2 TD's and 143 yards of total offense against Ashland in Bryan Station's 34 20 win over Ashland.

Bath County's Blandon Clemons had 166 yards rushing on 11 carries for 2 TDs. He also had a reception of 25 yards for another score. On defense he forced a fumble and recovered another. Bath County defeated Clinton County 58-14.

Since there are so few of these this week, I'm leaving the thread open through Friday morning. Please get me any nominees you want to be considered ASAP

Sophomore Michael Edens from Trimble County had to fill some rather large shoes left by the injury that David Bird received two weeks ago. Edens has moved up to varsity RB. In the game vs. Bracken, Edens had 158 yds on 11 carries, including a very Bird-like 65 yard run. He also had one catch for a 55 yard touchdown and recovered a fumble on defense. He ended up with 213 total game yards and two 2 TDs to help the Raiders in their 60-0 victory.

Clint Cashen 6'2 200 QB Sr. Corbin, Clint had 274 yards passing and 3 TD's, in Corbin's 47-0 win over Leslie Co.

Ricky Bowling 6'1 185 QB Jr. So. Laurel. Ricky had 459 yards passing and 5 TD's in So. Laurel's 52-48 win over Mercer Co.

6 td's

This week's KNN Scoreboard Show/Bluegrass Preps.com Player Of The Week is Ricky Bowling, a 6'1 185 pound junior QB from South Laurel. Ricky had 459 yards passing and 6 TD's in So. Laurel's 52-48 win over Mercer Co.
