Kentucky Athletes Excelling

I am in my late 40's and have followed all sports all my life. Played four years of college basketball. I cannot remember a time when more Kentucky athletes are major contributors in all sports. Tyson Gay -world champion sprinter; Brandon Webb- Cy Young winner; Shaun Alexander- NFL MVP; Chris Lofton-possible SEC POY and in running for National POY; Andre Woodson and Brian Brohm Heisman candidates along with a number of players on UK and UL football rosters; Scotty Hopson, Darrius Miller and Bud Mackey(even with legal problems) nationally recognized recruits. I am sure I am missing sports and athletes (pro golf etc) Not bad for our state population. Any comments

I have only been in KY for ten years, but it is a great time for a sports enthusiast to be here. I would have to think the 60's were pretty good with "THE GREATEST BOXER OF ALL TIME", and isn't Johnny Unitas from KY, or played ball in KY? Gay Brewer was in him prime, probably others (not to start a 60's thread).
