Sounds like this one was a tough way to go without Bird. Any details on the game for both teams?

North led 14-12 at half

North kicked a fg to go up 17-12 in 3rd

North added two more 2td's in the 4th to go up 31-12

Trimble scored late about a minute and added 2pt play

Trimble played really hard -the Qb Hawkes ran very inspired for Trimble

North just too much balance- 4 guys around 60 yds rushing and Qb Grandon added 60yards. Defense played pretty well. Held Trimble to about 150 rushing - Good win on Homecoming at Trimble-- for North Oldham

Sounds like the Raiders really missed Bird on both sides of the ball! Good luck to TC on the rest of the season.

Are the Raiders going to be hurting the rest of the year without Bird?

there is no doubt that the raiders will be hurting but they have enough team leaders on the squad to help carry them out... they all cant rely on one person even though one person can make the biggest diference in the world.

 

with justin hawkes in charge of the offense along with larry sullivan, jesse peters and jordan bray to give the ball to... teams will not know who to key on now because trimble still have plenty of threats.

Trimble has Bracken next. Will this be any kind of a game without Bird? Trimble put 50+ on the Bears last season,I believe.

It is not like the Raiders did not play well and that NO dominated. Trimble had more total yardage and more first downs. There were key defensive plays that allowed NO to score a couple of times.

And yes...they will miss Bird. You cannot replace a player like him. You have to come up with another way to get it done. Coach Poynter will have the Raiders ready for the rest of the season.

Trimble is still a good team without Bird with several quality players and will roll over Bracken with no problem

Trimble put 12 on Bracken in monsoon-like conditions in one quarter that was played with a running clock. Game over at the point, due to lightning.
