11th Region vs 7th Region

Featured Replies

Who has the tougher region this year?

11th with their Big 6: Lexington Catholic, Scott County, Henry Clay, Tates Creek, Bryan Station and Madison Central, or,

7th with their Big 6: J-Town, Ballard, Trinity, Male, Manual and Eastern.

And why?

The 11th region. They are simply better. I believe LexCath and Scott County are top 5 teams. Madison Central, Bryan Station, and Henry Clay are also very talented.

In the 7th region after J-Town and Ballard I don't think they are all that strong. I believe Male will be down from last year as well. I give the 11th region the nod.

The 7th Region always has 4 or 5 teams in the state's top 25. And the 7th region has had a team in the state finals both of the last two years. Won the title two year's ago with Jeffersontown and barring a super-hero performance by Mackey with a 20 point second half performance leading Scott County back after being down nearly double digits in the 4th, the 7th would have won the last two titles.

Rest assured, the 7th will have another team in the finals yet again this year along with 4 or 5 teams in the top 25. Is the 11th the top region, maybe, but the 7th enjoys as much success as them. By the way, the 7th won the King of the Bluegrass last year too. In fact, it was an all 7th title game.
